Every MRR tracking tool, compared

Updated 2026-08-04

There are more revenue dashboards than there are indie founders who need one. This page is an attempt at an honest map, including the cases where you should not use FRGMNT.

The short version

Tool Best for Coverage Price
ChartMogul Early-stage Stripe SaaS wanting real analytics Multi-source Free under $10k MRR
ProfitWell Anyone wanting free metrics, no cap Stripe and others Free
Baremetrics Teams needing dunning + forecasting Stripe-native ~$129/mo
MRR.io Simple hosted MRR, low cost Stripe Low monthly
TrackMRR Indie devs on Stripe, Polar, RevenueCat 3 sources Low
FRGMNT Selling on several platforms, want a native app and no data handover 5 sources $49.99/yr

The honest split

If you are Stripe-only and want depth — cohorts, churn analysis, segmentation, revenue movement charts — use ChartMogul or Baremetrics. FRGMNT does not do any of those things and is not trying to. See Baremetrics alternatives and ChartMogul alternatives for the nuances.

If you need to recover failed payments, use Baremetrics. Dunning is a genuinely valuable feature that pays for itself, and FRGMNT has nothing equivalent.

If your revenue is fragmented across platforms, this is the case FRGMNT was built for and where the alternatives are weakest. Most competitors are Stripe-first; folding App Store, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy and PayPal into one figure is the core integration story.

If you will not hand a third party access to your payment processor, FRGMNT is architecturally different: no backend, no account, keys held on your device. Every hosted competitor necessarily stores a copy of your revenue data.

If you want it on your phone, most competitors are web dashboards you open on a laptop.

Individual comparisons

A note on this page

Comparison pages published by vendors are usually marketing dressed as research. This one tries not to be: every section above names a case where a competitor is the better answer, because those cases are real. If FRGMNT were the right tool for everyone it would be a much less focused product.

Frequently asked

What is the best MRR tracker for a solo founder?

It depends on what you sell. If you are Stripe-only and want deep analytics, ChartMogul's free tier under $10k MRR is hard to beat. If you sell across several platforms and want a fast native app, FRGMNT. If you need dunning and forecasting, Baremetrics.

Is there a free MRR tracker?

Yes. ProfitWell Metrics is free with no revenue cap, and ChartMogul is free under $10k MRR. Both are hosted web tools that store your revenue data on their servers.

What is the cheapest paid option?

FRGMNT at $49.99 a year, or $149.99 once for lifetime. Most web-based competitors start at $29 to $129 per month.
